Happy New Year! [printable calendar]

January 2020 free printable calendar download

In with the new! Today not only brings the start of a new year, but a new decade as well – a time to welcome all the wonder and possibility newness can bring. Like the rest of the world, I’ve been spending the requisite time over the last few weeks to evaluate and set goals and hanker for changes where they need to be. In the coming days, I know I’ll get to all the conclusions that have surfaced from that process. But, for now, I’m content to dream and revel in the glow of a new starting point. (whoop! whoop!)

I’m holding on to the last few days of Christmas vacation with my crew before we get back into routines next week, but I wanted to plant the flag for 2020 with a printable calendar download. I’ve updated the format for the calendars this year to accommodate space for a 5×7″ mini print. Each month, I’ll include a bit of art you can cut down and frame or hang – something to make you smile long after the month is over.

October Field Guide [printable calendar]

Well, fall has officially arrived, and although the weather isn’t cooperating yet (at least in Mississippi), October has captured my attention — if only in wishful thinking. We may be sweating outside still, but around the Pond, my crew and I are undeterred in our excitement for all things autumn. This month is always like a new year, of sorts, for me, because it’s my birthday month — and 2019 is a momentous one! In keeping with our wishful thinking about fall, I’m sharing the art above as a free print. Just click it to download. I’ve also included a variation of it in my October calendar download. Plus, I’m giving you a peek at my newest print in the shop — an Autumn Field Guide!

September Field Guide [printable calendar]

I actually felt it today. As soon as I opened the door. And before the heat set in again. That shift. The small hints of coolness. The crisper air, less weighed down with humidity. September is here. It’s a month full of teasing as our hearts are ready for fall, but our temperatures are often stuck in summer. Whether it’s in that hint of a breeze or in the shift in sentiment, a change is in the air. I’ve taken a break from creating calendar pages for a few months, but I’m a bit renewed now and ready to mark these milestones again. September is a good time to start with its official change of season! I hope you enjoy this renewed field guide and “wonder” list for the month along with a companion printable calendar.

5 Lessons on Dream Catching [May printable calendar]

Last month, I started working on some of my goals for 2019. Last month. Yes, with one quarter of the year gone, I finally began putting some time into that burgeoning list of ideas I’ve been wanting to add flesh and paint to. I guess that makes me a late bloomer. It’s easy to scold myself and get discouraged with the delays and shifts in plans and even with my own resistance to putting in the work. But, instead, a few weeks ago, I decided to give myself a “talking to” as we say in the South, and embrace the notion that late blooms are still blooms. Their lateness just leaves longer for loveliness to germinate. That’s the inspiration for the mini print I’ve included in this month’s printable calendar – shared as you continue reading in ALL its tardiness! It’s also the motivation behind the trove of painted sketches in various stages of completion and a few lessons I’m trying to teach myself about capturing dreams.

Sweet February Days [printable calendar]

I can’t believe we are already one month into 2019! January feels like a whirlwind. Sometimes it seems like it takes the whole month to settle back into the routine of work projects and school schedules and to get my brain reoriented after holiday fun. And now, thirty-one days have passed! Although I’ve ignored the Frog Kisser since January 1st, I have enjoyed finishing up a few new illustration and branding projects for clients, sorting through some of my plans for personal work, and indulging in the freedom to get a slow start when needed. As we set out on another “sweet” month today, I’m sharing a new printable calendar, and a few sweet things we’re looking forward to in February. I’m excited to begin sharing some of the content ideas I’ve been working on.
